TEHRAN (IRNA) -- President Mahmud Ahmadinejad said here Sunday the Iranian nation wishes for Lebanon's stability, unity, security, and progress.

Ahmadinejad sent a message to Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah Movement Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah on occasion of anniversary of glorious victory of Hezbollah and the Lebanese nation over the Zionist regime during the latter's 33-day imposed war on Beirut last summer. ""Great victory of the Lebanese people over the Zionist occupiers was the outcome of faith, unity and resistance,"" he said. He added, ""The lesson of a 33-day resistance shows the path of dignity and resistance to nations particularly to the faithful and justice seeking youth. It promises victory of the believers."" The president stated that victory of the Lebanese resistance movement to the Zionist regime's aggression contained valuable lessons. The enemies intended to disappoint the believers but they did not achieve their goal, he said, adding, brave Lebanese youth made enemies disappointed because faithful followers of God Almighty are always hopeful and present on scene. ""Followers of the Zionist regime should not tie interests of their nations to those of the Zionists. ""Big powers which support the Zionists should open their eyes and witness realities about the occupying regime,"" he said. He stated, ""During the 33-day war, certain members of the Security Council did not hesitate to support various crimes of the Zionist regime. ""They provided help to the Zionist regime in its crimes including massacre and wounding of thousands of the Lebanese people, and destruction of residential units, infrastructures, power plants, ports, and the environment of Lebanon."" Ahmadinejad stressed, ""These powers caused severe damage to the prestige of the United Nations. These bullying governments did not let (the Security Council) adopt a resolution to put an end to the war until the time they became sure that continuation of war would further weaken the Zionist regime. Meanwhile Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel said victory of the Lebanese Hezbollah against the Zionist regime belongs to the entire Muslim world. Haddad-Adel made the remarks in the Majlis official session, adding ""Hezbollah victory does not belong just to the Lebanese nation but to all Muslims of the world,"" he said. ""You are not alone in this happy event. All Muslims including the Iranian nation share this victory and are happy with you,” he said addressing the Lebanese nation. “Those in the Muslim world who have suffered from this cancerous tumor (Israel) over the past 60 years are happy with victory of Lebanon."" He wished for Hezbollah's success in safeguarding Lebanon's territorial integrity
